"La Sportiva" with 457 poits and about 145km at finish with convincingly the best result!
We are getting close to 400 points - Anneken Lemberg, Toomas Marrandi at finish with 366 points!
SEVER-ENDURANCE TEAM - new absolute leaders with ower 300 points - 322!
Teams coming to Finish. 40 minutes left ....
New leaders at MO24 (and absolute) - "Punkt leitud" , 263 points
Can it cost a medal?
We are here. So, where is CP?
New leaders @ XO24 - Inka/Vilensone, 237 points.
It was soooo close...
So far fom the results table - 1st - Sõge Summukas(MO24 ), 259 points, 106km, (according to GPS). Liepņa and Kaminskis(XO24/XV24) finished 7 hours ago, and still are best up to this moment.
I`ll just leave this here...
Let`s take 10 points. Mmmm, ok, no, let`s go home...
Some nice controls to visit at te morning
No, seriously, I get tired of watching it. But, with all due respect to this perseverance.
Some night fun.
It`is dark. And wet. But this probably was hard decision ....
When you are more than 7 hours out at woods, you can not rely even on trails and roads
Some action going on at the CP 102 ....
Some control points visited by teams today
First teams of 6h competitions are finishing. And yes, it`s starting to rain.
Team from Ukraine with really strange road choice ....
According to GPS, at least 3 teams at Men group has run 25km +, so far.
The first team by the sea!
No, not worth it, let's not take
Definitely, there is some magic around CP 100
I would call it as "self punishment" ...
Too much ditches out there ....
So far for local favorites - Bībers/Jasāns(M) - 15 poits, Grīviņš/Upmace-Grīviņa(MIX) - 18 points
This was not the fastest road to CP84 for sure....
The teams are evenly distributed on all sides of the map. It's like a compliment to course planners!
GPS is live. Let the fun begin!
GPS tracking will be live 10 minutes after start.
The start corridor fills with participants. No rain. At the moment.... ;) 5 minutes till start.
It`s time to go to start area. Tere will be distribution of GPS devices, check-up of mandatory equipment and devices to be carried on the course.....
Less tan hour till start of 24h. Do you have a plan? And a plan B(just in case)?
Hash house is located at the southern part of the map(not in te centre) so, it also, could push you to make come hard decisions(if you are planning to come back to HH at night).
The fastest teams will, of course, reach the Baltic Sea. Will it be at night? The area by the sea is quite flat, so it would be difficult to find some CP in the dark (102?). The area around the competition center is quite hilly (according to the Latvian understanding of hills). It could help with navigation, but could hurt your legs ....
Some words about map. Map prepared by Raimonds Lapiņš. He is a wery experienced map drawer, and, also a wery good rogainer - some world championships titles in his backpack.
And, here is our beauty...
Maps are handed out. Now it`s time for planning.
The weather is forecasted to be very ok for running - light rain and temperatures up to 24 degrees. With some harder showers at evening/night.
10 minutes. In the meantime, you can still catch breakfast.
Good morning! 15 minutes till the map handout. Be ready!
